And therefore, I have changed the overall "look" of my blog to make it more "interesting" as it was "pretty boring" originally. I concur with you, my critic, and so it has changed to a pretty pink instead of black. Also, you will find a 5 Star Rating System included with each recipe posted. Can you guess who the 5 stars are??? As you can see from the recipes posted, the cinnamon rolls were a hit. The tomato soup did farely well with only one frowning star. Other ideas for a more interesting blog? Feel free to contact me, although I may be quite busy in the kitchen...
On the cooking side of things today, I should be baking and keeping my house warm since it is blowing negative temperatures across our little town...but instead I have wasted time on this computer trying to be computer saavy, which I. AM. NOT. Like some of you, I am waiting for the call to make pies for a funeral we have in church this Saturday. And guess what?? There is a recipe for pie dough that one of my friends said is really good. So, I am going to get a head start on my pies and make this one. This crust actually is supposed to be frozen prior to using and looks really good. I will keep you posted on how it turns out.
***Disclaimer to my mother (the best cook I know who is not named Pioneer Woman)---your pie crust recipe is really good too, but I feel forced to try this recipe! ***
Due to the funeral on Saturday, our plans have changed. My girls have a basketball game that morning and we were planning a big brunch afterwards which included a recipe out of PW's recipe book Aunt Edna's Sour Cream Pancakes.---- THIS RECIPE IS NOT ON HER WEBSITE!!!! I repeat, NOT ON HER WEBSITE!!! So check your cookbook if you have one...and if you don't, you REALLY need to get one ASAP.----
So, since part of our brunch crowd will be at the funeral, we are changing our get together until the evening and decided that the brunch menu should be changed to a "suppery" type menu. Because I was so looking forward to trying that new recipe, paired with the fact that we only have 1/4 cup of milk in our house at this exact moment, and that it is blowing negative temperatures across our town as I write, WE will be eating BRUNCH for supper TONIGHT!! So stay tuned...I'll let you know how the sour cream pancakes turned out. How will I make pancakes for a family of 6 with just a 1/4 cup of milk, you ask? With the sour cream in this recipe---NO MILK!!! Seriously, this will be very interesting. There's only 7 Tablespoons of flour in them also. I hope they don't taste "too eggy" because I will not be able to handle that. We'll see what the food critics think---smiley or frowny???

WOW! I think your blog is looking great! You are rockin' pioneer woman recipes!! btw--her cookbook is only $8 on amazon currently :)
WOW! That is a bargain!! Do you have her cookbook?
yes!! I love it...I am doing the same thing, everytime I go to the grocery store I pick my week's meals from the cookbook. I have tried several of her recipes online but there are a bunch I have never seen on her blog in the book. I really wanted to get my book signed(I know I am a nerd) but both times she was here in OKC my boys had programs at school...it was a tough call but I had to chose my kiddos :)
I made the perfect pie crust a few weeks ago and it was frozen for about 2 days before I used it and it turned out great! P.S. the blog looks fantastic, I think this was a great idea!
